Acknowledgement
Pope John Paul II acknowledges that the Orthodox ae part of the "One,
Holy, Catholic, and Apostolic Church" because the
Orthodox "rejoice in the episcopate (bishops), celebrate the Holy Eucharist
and cultivate devotion to the Virgin Mother of God. . ." He
identifies the Orthodox Churches as ". . . sister churches. . . who are
united in Christ. . .(Ut Unum Saint 5/25/95).
The Vatican says "sister churches" identifies the relationship between the Roman Catholic and Orthodox Churches, with the Mother of the sister churches being the One, Holy, Catholic and Apostolic Church. . ." attributed to Cardinal Joseph Ratzinger of the Congregation for the Doctrine of Faith as reported in Catholic World News.com 10/30/00.
Vatican II acknowledged "that in our churches, Apostolic Succession is fundamental and ". . .that the Roman Catholic Church and the Orthodox Churches can already profess together that common faith in the mystery of the Church and the bond between faith and sacraments. . . (Quoted in Ut Unum Saint, 5/25/95).
Bishop Cooper's Certifications
Note: It is the Vatican that has said that the Orthodox share the Catholic Faith and are separated sister Catholic Churches. The Envoy Magizine article about Bishop Cooper is misleading. The terms Orthodox Catholic and Orthodox Christian are synonomous. There are independent Western Rite Orthodox jurisdictions all over the world. Bishop Cooper's Order does NOT have gay or women priests.
"Serious couples will call by telephone and speak with the Bishop directly. No text messages, please."
